Costa Rica is a small country in terms of area but there is a lot going on here in terms of their weather. The climate of Guanacaste is highly seasonal. Guanacaste experiences little rain and consistent rain during November to April and experiences a rainy season during late May and November. The main reason for the diversity in the weather of Guanacaste is due to the various elevations at which the different parts of the region are located. The best time to visit Guanacaste is from December to April since this is the dry season of the region. In this season, tourism is heavier. This means that it is difficult to find good attractions and prices because they are often crowded. The place of Guanacaste is widely known for having warm and sunny days all year around with occasional rains in the late afternoon during the rainy season. The dry season is intense in Guanacaste with no rainfall for several months.
Rainy season on the other hand is a good time to visit Guanacaste since everything starts to turn green, flowers start to blossom, and you can relax after a lot of activity in the morning with the melody of nature and rain. This season is more characterized as rainy during end of May until the mid of November. The only time to avoid in Guanacaste might be the mid September to the end of October when longer of periods of rains are really common. At this season, usually the mornings are hot and sunny while the afternoons are characterized by heavy showers that start around 2 or 3. Surprisingly, rainy season is a kind of season wherein you can enjoy the bike rides, beaches, and horse riding. This season is also perfect for rafting. At this time you can also visit the Guanacaste’s Gold Coast. So basically all the outdoor activities are possible during this season.
