Scott Westerfeld said the best way to know a city is to eat it. We couldn’t agree more, so we want to share with you our recommendations of the best restaurants in town.
Guanacaste is home to a great variety of different cultures, this has made areas like Tamarindo an amazing place to eat well. Even though Michellin stars are not the way we measure the quality of a restaurant around here, the ambiance and quality of food can delight the most demanding palates. We invite you to go out, have fun and build great memories while enjoying great food.
Located at just 20 minutes away from Reserva Conchal, the small town of Tamarindo offers the greatest variety of restaurants and bars in Guanacaste.
Get to know the Costa Rican cuisine by visiting one of the oldest restaurants in town. Family owned since 1974, Nogui`s opened its doors when Tamarindo had no paved roads, running water, phones or electricity. Named after his original owner Nogui Acosta, the restaurant is also popular for its home-made desserts and delicious breakfasts. We also recommend watching the sunset at their beach tables with a cold Costa Rican beer or their amazing Margarita during happy hour from 4:30 to 5:30. Noguis is closed on Wednesdays!
If you are a meat lover, Patagonia is your place. This Argentinian restaurant offers high-quality cuts and great drinks. The vegetarian options are really good also. Our recommendations include the Entraa, the Provoleta and the Argentinian Empanadas.
The Italian community is significant in the area, and the best pizza can be found in Pizzeria Las Baulas. It also is a great place for families as the kids can entertain in the small playground while the adults enjoy a nice glass of wine.
Wok and Roll offers great sushi and Fusion Asian food. Opening for lunch and dinner, this restaurant delight with its fresh seafood and variety from regions like China, Mongolia, Korea and more.
If traveling in a group or choosing a specialty is tricky, International food is the best option. Right on the beach, Pangas Beach Club opens for breakfast lunch and dinner and features a menu with a fusion glare. Find fresh salads, seafood, ceviches, beef cuts and more.
Brasilito and Flamingo
Right across the street, Brasilito town accommodates another great option of Italian food. IL Forno is a small restaurant with great pizza and pasta options. We recommend you try the Eggplant lasagna and the seafood pasta. Only cash here, no credit cards!
Coco-Loco, is an international beach front restaurant, located in Flamingo beach. Enjoy a casual dinner or lunch inspired by French cuisine and without taking off the feet of the sand.
Angelinas, is our recommendation for a fine-dining experience. Chef Joseph Mucaria named this beautifully decorated restaurant after his grandmother.
Last but not least, our small foodie guide could not be complete without the uniqueness of Lolas Beach Bar. This rustic and casual restaurant located right on the beach is characterized by the beautiful wood lounges on the sand, great ambiance, and fresh food. But what really makes this place special is the huge and sweet pig that gives her name to the restaurant. Enjoy a cocktail, surf the waves and take a picture with Lola while she also enjoys the ocean.
No matter how long you will be staying with us, every single day try to include a good restaurant option for any meal. Experiencing the culture of a destination through its food is a great way of collecting memories, meeting new people and expanding your view of the world. Provecho!
