Travelling during Covid can feel overwhelming but once you know the policies and procedures, travelling becomes a lot easier.

Currently (January 2022) Costa Rica does not require a negative covid test or proof of vaccination to enter the country.

All travellers entering Costa Rica do however need to complete the Health Pass form found at this link:

Once you complete the form you will receive a QR code which will be required in order to board your flight and again when you pass through Customs and Immigration at the airport upon arrival.

My Guanacaste Vacation is proud to offer check-in and check-out times that allow you to make the most of your stay with us.

Check-In: 3:00 pm
Check Out: 11:00 am

If you will be arriving early please contact us to see what arrangements can be made for your luggage and recommendations for how to get the most enjoyment out of your time before you are able to check into your accommodations.

All my Guanacaste Vacation homes are located within the gates of the world-class Reserva Conchal Golf and Beach Resort. Conveniently located just 45 minutes from the Liberia International Airport (LIR – Daniel Oduber Quirós) or 4 hours from the San Jose International Airport (SJO – Juan Santamaria)

Our concierge team can assist you with a car rental or shuttle transportation to the resort.

The local Costa Rican currency is Colones, however, USD is also widely accepted. Most local businesses also accept credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

Money can be converted at the airport and local banks or withdrawn from any of the bank machines located in and near the resort.

Guanacaste Costa Rica is blessed with warm temperatures year-round. The area has two seasons commonly known as the Green Season and the Dry Season.
Green Season is typically between May 15th and November 15th and Dry Season between November 15th and May 15th. The temperature does not vary much between seasons and is generally between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius (86-91 degrees Fahrenheit).

During the Green Season, the average monthly rainfall in our area is 220mm ( 8.7 inches) with the highest amount of rainfall occurring in October. If you ask the locals many will tell you that Green Season is their favorite, so don’t be afraid to visit during those months, as the rain brings out the lush beautiful green landscape that Costa Rica is so famous for.

What to bring mostly depends on what you plan to do during your time in Costa Rica. If you plan to stay close to the beach and the pool then flip flops, shorts, tank tops, bathing suits and sundresses are all you’ll really need.

If you are planning on venturing out to explore Arenal, Monteverde, San Jose or other cooler areas we recommend you bring a light sweater, rain jacket, long pants and comfortable close-toed shoes.

Sunscreen, bug spray and personal hygiene products can be expensive in Costa Rica so we recommend you bring what you will need for your trip.

Each My Guanacaste Vacation comes with free high-speed Internet and a local phone but should you wish to be connected outside the resort you can enjoy the free wifi at the beach club or many of the local restaurants or pick up one of the affordable prepaid SIM cards available from various local cellular providers. Just make sure your phone is unlocked before you come.

Although you can drive for up to 3 months in Costa Rica with your International Drivers license we highly recommend that you do the majority of your travelling using a private transportation service.

Addresses and street names are not common in Costa Rica and getting around without the use of GPS can be frustrating and difficult. Hiring a driver or tour guide can ensure that you can actually relax and enjoy your travels through our beautiful country. For more information on private transportation or tours please reach out to our Concierge Team, they would be happy to make arrangements.
