All My Guanacaste Vacation homes are located within the gates of the world-class Reserva Conchal Golf and Beach Resort. Our concierge team can assist you with a car rental or shuttle transportation to the resort.
The local Costa Rican currency is Colones, however, USD is also widely accepted. Most local businesses also accept credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Money can be converted at the airport and local banks or withdrawn from any of the bank machines (probably will charge a bank commission) located in and near the resort.
Guanacaste Costa Rica is blessed with warm temperatures year-round. The area has two seasons commonly known as the Green Season and the Dry Season. Green Season is typically between May 15th and November 15th and Dry Season between November 15th and May 15th. The temperature does not vary much between seasons and is generally between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius (86-91 degrees Fahrenheit).
During the Green Season, the average monthly rainfall in our area is 220mm (8.7 inches) with the highest amount of rainfall occurring in October. If you ask the locals many will tell you that Green Season is their favorite, so don’t be afraid to visit during those months, as the rain brings out the lush beautiful green landscape that Costa Rica is so famous for.
What to bring mostly depends on what you plan to do during your time in Costa Rica. If you plan to stay close to the beach and the pool then flip flops, shorts, tank tops, bathing suits and sundresses are all you’ll really need.
If you are planning on venturing out to explore Arenal, Monteverde, San Jose or other cooler areas we recommend you bring a light sweater, rain jacket, long pants and comfortable close-toed shoes.
Sunscreen, bug spray and personal hygiene products can be expensive in Costa Rica so we recommend you bring what you will need for your trip.
Each of My Guanacaste Vacation properties comes with free high-speed Internet and a local phone, but should you wish to be connected outside the resort, you can enjoy the free wifi at the beach club or many of the local restaurants or pick up one of the affordable prepaid SIM cards available from various local cellular providers. Just make sure your phone is unlocked before you come.
Although you can drive for up to 3 months in Costa Rica with your International Drivers license we highly recommend that you do most of your travelling using a private transportation service.
Addresses and street names are not common in Costa Rica and getting around without the use of GPS can be frustrating and difficult. Hiring a driver or tour guide can ensure that you can relax and enjoy your travels through our beautiful country. For more information on private transportation or tours please reach out to our Concierge Team, they would be happy to make arrangements.
